A 55-year old woman who took part in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer 5K on Saturday ended up hanging on for dear life after she got stuck on an open drawbridge in Fort Lauderdale.

The participant – clad in pink – was reportedly making her way home after the event when she somehow ended up dangling from this apparatus, 22 feet above ground.

Onlookers say the unidentified female remained calm while firefighters were called in and used a 24-foot ladder to climb to her rescue.

It’s unclear how the woman ended up in such a precarious position, considering there’s a No Trespassing nearby and the bridge makes a loud signal before rising up from the river.

But, hey, at least she’s safe and at least one witness took the proper perspective.

“To me that just helped in the fight for cancer," Ashanicka Powell told a local NBC affiliate. "So many people that are ready to give up the fight and still are hanging in there – that just symbolized that, ’cause she could have let go at any minute and she didn’t.”
