It was a very special week on Dancing with the Stars, and not just because the long-running show bid an inspirational farewell to contestant Valerie Harper.
Two-time Mirror Ball winner Julianne Hough returned to the ballroom!
Len Goodman wasn’t available to judge Monday night, so none other than Julianne traded in her dancing shoes for judging paddles, if only for a week.
She also took part in the dancing, briefly, in the show intro. Watch:
The opening group number ended with an introduction of the judges, with a special solo for Julianne Hough, who also plugged her new film Paradise.
Julianne was kind, but not unreasonably so for a judge. She focused more on the stars, so there’d be no conflict of interest with judging her brother Derek.

Harper’s run came to an end, narrowing the field to nine. There are some weaker links left, but not many. Going forward, it looks like anyone’s game.
