After defeating the Boston Bruins to win the Stanley Cup this week, the Chicago Blackhawks took out a full-page ad in the rival city’s Boston Globe.

The purpose: To thank the Bruins, their fans and Boston itself.

Pretty classy gesture by the Blackhawks, especially after celebrating their Cup victory on Boston’s home ice with a dramatic Game 6 clincher.

Win like men, lose like men. Both goals can certainly be elusive.

But based on the contents of this letter, it appears the members of both NHL finalists did just that, along with the fans of the 2011 champion Bruins.

Good sportsmanship at its finest. Refreshing, wouldn’t you say?
