Kobe Bryant has given an assist to Magic Johnson.
The Lakers shooting guard was asked yesterday about Magic Johnson’s son, EJ, who went public this week with his same-sex relationship and who received statements of support from his famous father.
“Of course Magic is supportive of and loves his son,” Kobe told TMZ in response. “Why should anyone be surprised? What I can’t tolerate is a lack of tolerance.”

Bryant, of course, got into trouble with the gay community in 2011 when he referred to a referee as a “f-cking f-ggot.”
But he scolded a fan in February for his negative use of the word “gay” and has clearly learned from his mistake.
Oh, and more good news for Kobe and Magic: the Lakers blew away the Mavs last night and currently hold the eighth spot in the Western Conference playoff picture.
