Cookie Monster has been arrested, but don’t get too down, boys and girls:
It wasn’t the real Cookie Monster.
Instead, according to The New York Post, Osvaldo Quiroz-Lopez – a man dressed as this iconic Sesame Street character – was taken into custody after shoving a two-year old to the ground because his mother refused to leave a tip after her son posed for a photo with the costumed 33-year old.
The incident took place around 2 p.m. yesterday.
In response to Quiroz-Lopez cursing out the boy’s mother and pushing the toddler, he was transported to Midtown North station house and charged with reckless endangerment and endangering the welfare of a child.
It’s been a tough couple years for Cookie Monster.
In 2009, Sherri Shepherd blamed the dessert lover for this nation’s obesity problem.
