Goodbye, Shia LaBeouf. Hello, Jack Reynor!

Michael Bay has announced that this 20-year old actor will not simply appear opposite Mark Wahlberg in Transformers 4… he’ll anchor an entirely new franchise based around these robots, as the director is working on two more sequels.

Wrote Bay on his blog:

“Jack Reynor, he is an Irish kid that came to America with 30 bucks in his pocket. Pretty ballsy. Seriously who does that? Anyway I spotted him in a great little Irish movie What Richard Did. This kid is the real deal.”

Reynor also appeared last year’s in Dollhouse, according to his IMDB page.

As for what we can expect in Transformers 4? And whether or not it’s related to the past three installments of this blockbuster?

Transformers 4 is not a reboot,” explained Bay. “That word has been floating around on the net. This movie takes place exactly 4 years after the war in Chicago. The story makes a very natural transition, and reason as to why we have a whole new cast. This Transformers will feel very different then the last three. We are embarking on a new trilogy.”

Ummm… hooray? We guess.
