Good ol’ NBC.
Add this to the list of the network’s woes during the 2012 London Olympics: During a women’s water polo battle last week, the network aired a wardrobe malfunction.
If you can call it that.
In the Spain-U.S. game, a player for the latter had her bathing suit grabbed and yanked underwater, resulting in a nipple slip – or full-on breast – on live TV:
This water polo player’s wardrobe didn’t really malfunction … it was just forcibly removed.
Good times. As NBC’s admittedly awesome underwater cameras aired the intense action, they no doubt gave perceptive viewers more than they bargained for, and guaranteed themselves a nice fine from the FCC. Enjoy!
For what it’s worth:
- This kind of “defense” is par for the course in water polo, it’s just not common for cameras to broadcast it to a billion people worldwide, and …
- The game ended in a 9-9 tie. U-S-A! U-S-A!
