Former First Daughter Chelsea Clinton has been hired as a full-time special correspondent for NBC News, according to reports. NBC will announce this later today.

NBC News president Steve Capus told the New York Times that the daughter of former President Bill Clinton and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will focus on pieces for the network’s “Making a Difference” feature on NBC Nightly News.

Chelsea Clinton, 31, said in a statement:

“I hope that telling stories through ‘Making a Difference’ – as in my academic work and nonprofit work – will help me to live my grandmother’s adage of ‘Life is not about what happens to you, but about what you do with what happens to you.'”

With that quote, Chelsea, who married Marc Mezvinsky last year, is paying homage to grandmother Dorothy Rodham, who died November 1 at the age of 92.

Other prominent political daughters who work for NBC News in some capacity include Jenna Bush Hager (The Today Show) and Meghan McCain (MSNBC).

Congrats to Chels on her new gig!
