Singer Jewel and husband Ty Murray have welcomed a son. His name is Kase Townes Murray and he was born Monday evening in Texas!
Kase arrived at 7 p.m. CST and weighed in at 7 lbs., 6 oz.
“We are so pleased to welcome our new baby boy into the world,” Jewel and Murray, a professional bull rider, told People. “We are overcome with happiness – it really is as great as everyone told us it would be – better even!”
Jewel found out she was pregnant on the first day of her job co-hosting Bravo’s Platinum Hit: “I took a pregnancy test and it was positive!”
“It was so hard to keep it a secret.”
The Grammy-nominated singer, 36, had struggled to conceive, then was hit by a fire truck in March at five months pregnant. She was released from the hospital after tests concluded she and her unborn child were unharmed.
Jewel and Ty Murray – co-founder of the Professional Bull Riders, nine-time world champion and a color commentator for Built Ford Tough Series broadcasts – got hitched in a beach ceremony in the Bahamas in 2008.
Congratulations to the couple family!
