America’s Got Talent visited Houston and Minneapolis last night, resulting in some of the oddest auditions we’ve witnessed yet.
Did anyone else find the beginning of the Minneapolis auditions more interesting without Piers around? He just acts like a little bitch, getting up and storming off. I found that really unprofessional.
So, who stood out and who deserved to be sent home? If I can get all those Lady GaGa songs the show played out of my head, I can offer my thoughts on the episode below…
Houston
STANDOUTS: The Rhinestone Ropers delivered the best danger factor in a very long time. I liked the Sandou Trio Russian Bar’s concept, but the act is one of those where I don’t see where it would go from there. She goes up, flips, and comes down hoping she doesn’t die.
THE BIGGEST TIME WASTER: While Status B.L.A.K couldn’t sing or flip, the weirdest act to me was Professor Splash. I think the real reason why people want to watch this guy is because they want to see him seriously injured on live television. I don’t understand how this is an act; it’s just a scientifically enhanced Jackass skit.
Minneapolis
STANDOUTS: Animal act Sara Huft & Echo, singer Lys Agnes, and dance troupe, the Silhouettes. Of the three, Lys was my favorite because she reminded me of Des’ree; if Lys attempts “Kissing You” from Romeo + Juliet, I’ll melt into butter. I hope that parrot won’t be moody in future cuts, or else Sara won’t survive.
QUESTIONABLE PASSES: Without Piers, The St. Luke’s Bottle Band, The Halls of Magic, and Viva La Muerte all made it through. The Bottle Band sounds like a lot of fun especially with corks flying into the audience attempting to poke Sharon in the eyes. The one that confused but amused me was Those Funny Little People. I can imagine a whole scene with either a good snow theme background with candy canes, or Santa’s workshop. I’m not a fan of the guy with the tongue depressors.
THE BIGGEST TIME WASTER: Walt Winston. What does hanging out with my friends have to do with truck drivers and their inability to cry? I also need to know what website allowed him to have 70 number-one hits. I need to register for the site and have my own smash.
Who was your favorite on the night?
