It’s apparent that Jon Gosselin is going to have a hard time cashing in on his quasi-fame as long as his former employer has anything to say about it.

TLC essentially torpedoed two different Super Bowl commercials that would have starred the erstwhile Jon & Kate Plus 8 star, according to his lawyer.

“Two different entities sought to solicit his services [for Super Bowl ad spots], but in my view, they were scared of TLC,” says attorney Mark Heller.

“In my view, it was a mean-spirited act on [TLC’s] part.”

Yes. So mean-spirited when Jon is not only under contract with TLC, but selfishly pulled the plug on the show that was making the network money.

Heller wouldn’t say what the network did to ruin Gosselin’s dreams (his TV dreams, not his female “to-do list“) or what companies sought him.

TLC will stop at nothing to take down Jon Gosselin.

Meanwhile, a Manhattan judge has scheduled an April 19 trial date for Gosselin and TLC’s lawsuits over the show, which just aired its series finale.

The two sides will face off at a December 10 preliminary hearing that will take up the matter of whether Gosselin’s contract should be made public and whether TLC can legally bar the former reality TV dad from future TV gigs.

“They do not want the public to have access because I trust they’re embarrassed, ashamed of how they took advantage of this family,” says Heller.

Ostensibly, that’s why Jon shut down production on Jon & Kate Plus 8, even though we all know it’s because producers were squeezing him out.

Heller also confirmed that lawyers for the two sides spent the day deposing a couple of Gosselin’s former pals, Michael Lohan and Kate Major.

Both were queried about potential, non-TLC business deals that Gosselin pursued, as Michael’s ridiculous, leaked phone call with Jon proved.
