American Idol fans were greeted with the usual sampling of poor auditions on last night’s eighth season premiere.
But Katrina Darrell provided something most unusual: a bikini-clad rendition of “Vision of Love,” replete with a quasi cat fight with new judge Kara DioGuardi.
Earlier today, DioGuardi defended her position – that Darrell’s lack of singing ability made it ridiculous for Simon Cowell to approve her for Hollywood – but also praised the contestant for thinking outside the box by, well, almost showing her box.
“To her credit, she’s gotten so much attention. It was probably a good call to wear the bikini at the end of the day,” DioGuardi said. “But we wouldn’t be talking about the bikini if she killed the song.”
Speaking of swim wear, The Hollywood Gossip research team has uncovered evidence that proves Katrina Darrell has worn a bikini on camera before!
