She may have finished second on American Idol, but she’s getting all the headlines and being treated like Hollywood royalty these days.
The lovely Katharine McPhee, 22, was reportedly mobbed by tourists when she attended a recent Broadway show. Despite emerging as a bona fide star in just a few months, the singer is trying to take it all in stride and not let it go to her head.
“I try to look at it as, well, we’re all hot right now, but let’s remember that this is a dog-eat-dog business and it could all go as fast as it came. I just keep that in mind,” a humble McPhee said of the incident, which is hardly the first of its kind.
Having inked a new record contract, and with two singles — “My Destiny” and “Somewhere Over the Rainbow” — due out on June 27, it doesn’t look like the Californian will be fading away anytime soon. She will also be on tour with her fellow American Idol finalists beginning July 5 before working on her full-length debut album for RCA Records.
